A little about me...

I am interested in many things, but I am truly passionate about education.  My focus is on the art of teaching and learning and finding new ways to improve both.  I believe that professionals in education must not only use the words "life-long learner," but embody and model it every day.

I grew up in a small town in North Dakota.  My Dad is a Technology Education teacher who showed me how important it is to continue to be a student of both your content and of the art of education.  My Mom is a nurse who modeled empathy and compassion for everyone, because we are all on our own journey.

I am thankful for my time with Bismarck Public Schools, a district whose commitment to constant improvement is something that continues to inspire me professionally. I now live in Connecticut, in a brand new position and a new-to-me district.  I am learning as fast as I can to serve the students and staff of this district. Can I do things better? Can my old methods help to inform and shape current situations? These are the questions I am asking myself every day.

I am married to Stuart, who challenges me to be a better person for myself and our family.  We have twins, a son and a daughter.  They are the ultimate "why" for everything I do in education.
